Admission Guidelines for 2026-27
To ensure a smooth admission process for your child, please review these essential guidelines and requirements based on the latest CBSE and NEP 2020 standards.
1. Age Requirements (The “6+ Rule”)
Following the National Education Policy, children must meet specific age criteria by March 31st of the academic year:
Class 1: The child must be at least 6 years old.
2. Mandatory Documentation
Before your child can sit for the entrance test, the following documents must be submitted to the school office:
Birth Certificate: An official copy issued by the Municipal Corporation or Registrar of Births.
Transfer Certificate (TC): Required for Class 2 and above. If moving from a different state or board (ICSE/State Board), the TC must be countersigned by the local Education Officer.
Previous Mark Sheets: The report card from the last school attended to verify the child has passed the previous grade.
Identity Proof: Aadhaar Cards for both the student and the parents.
APAAR ID: The student’s digital academic lifelong ID for storing credits and records.
PEN Number: The 11-digit Permanent Education Number provided by the previous school.
Photographs: Recent passport-sized color photographs of the student and parents.
3. The Entrance Evaluation
Admissions are subject to vacancy and performance in the school’s internal assessment:
Subjects: Tests usually cover English, Mathematics, and Science (and sometimes Hindi).
Focus: The test evaluates whether the student has mastered the concepts of the grade they just completed.
Class 11: Admission is heavily dependent on the Class 10 Board Exam results and specific “cut-off” marks for Science, Commerce, or Humanities streams.
4. Special Category Admissions (RTE)
Under the Right to Education (RTE) Act, 25% of seats at the entry-level (Class 1) are reserved for:
EWS (Economically Weaker Section): Requires a valid Income Certificate issued by a Tehsildar or higher official.
Disadvantaged Groups: Requires a valid Caste Certificate (SC/ST/OBC) or Medical Certificate (for Children with Special Needs).
5. To be noted:
No corrections will be made in the student’s or parents’ name or date of birth after the submission of Transfer Certificate/Birth Certificate/Previous Year Progress Card. Ensure to get it corrected before the submission of documents. Later, NO CHANGES WILL BE MADE.
